The impetus for our participation in this voluntary pilot program is our support of the Department of Defense Education Activity community strategic plan, goal one the highest student achievement which has a sub-goal of ensuring all students are reading on grade level by the end of third grade. It is our intent to meet that goal as early in a child's life as possible. DIBELS may be an effective tool to assist us in that endeavor.
