Specifically with respect to the Inhumans, they are almost a mythological creation in and of themselves - the way they work, the way they operate, the fact that they're royalty - and they've always been involved with a lot of the big cosmos events that Marvel has done.

There has been a general consensus among us in editorial ... (that) we feel that after 40 years of publishing our heroes have become way to chummy with each other. In earlier times, there was a certain element of danger and mistrust within the Marvel Universe, both from the human populace and its heroes. Heroes would meet and not instantly know or even like each other. Spider-Man used to get shot at, he was considered creepy, dangerous and - as J. Jonah Jameson was fond of saying - 'a masked menace!' 'Civil War' puts us back in that place. Where it leaves us? Well, you'll have to read to find out.

I'm just an actor who happened to love these [Marvel] comics when I was a kid, and got to rediscover them.

Every kid in the family, besides Marvel, left the house by the age of 16. There was less stress living on our own than trying to survive in the environment we were in. I don't know how Marvel did it. He spent his time playing football, but the cards were stacked against him.

You do take him for granted. He's very quiet, but his technique is fantastic. His sets are the same every time. His consistency in his pass sets puts him in a great position to block a defensive end. Everything that Marvel does, it's a chess move. Nothing is by accident.

Thanks to the comic book publishers. Batman and Captain Marvel were responsible for my learning to read at least a year before I showed up at school. They got me interested in writing. Started my first novel at about eight. The title: 'The Canals of Mars.'

Professor Marvel: Professor Marvel never guesses. He knows!

Some think it's a great idea and some don't. It's going to have major ramifications in the Marvel U as people take different sides in all this.

People seem to marvel at how primitive it all seemed. But when you consider what life was like in Florida 30 or 40 years before, it's amazing how things progressed.

The White House tapes, the recordings that Nixon made of his conversations in office, have long been recognized as a marvel of verbal incontinence.

As well expect Nature to answer to your human values as to come into your house and sit in a chair. The economy of nature, its checks and balances, its measurements of competing life-all this is its great marvel and has an ethic of its own.

That's one of the things that I've loved about 'Spider-Man' and Marvel in general. The characters all have dimension.
