My dad took me to the racetrack for the first time when I was 2 or 3... Anything with a motor, that was in my blood.

Right about when I turned 13, I realized that women could be jockeys, from my travels to the racetrack with my dad.

When we started jogging him, he was ready to turn around then, so we had to go real easy with him. He didn't want to come off the racetrack a few times. He had been walking for two and half to three hours a day, and then we started to jog him, but I'll know more as to how much fitness he's maintained once he starts galloping on his own, and once we get a breeze underneath him. But he looks really good.

I enjoy the times I go to the racetrack to see the horses, but yet I don't have to get up at 4:30 every morning of the week. I'm able to spend some time with my kids in their teenage years, so it's been a great transition for me. With the way the horses are running, it's been even better. Things have gone really well, so from that standpoint, everybody's happy. Kenny and Bill are real excited about the future. Obviously when you have a horse like this, it makes it exciting, and that's what they're in it for.

But it's something that was a huge character builder, when you can walk around the racetrack and still perform wearing diapers and have self-dignity.

I said before, hopefully, Belmont day, I would move for every racetrack to have a lemonade stand on Belmont day throughout the entire United States and give a dollar to the lemonade stand or their local juvenile cancer fund. And, like I said earlier, everybody who was fortunate enough to bet on this horse, makes a little money, just take $1, donate it to Alex's Lemonade Stand or local juvenile cancer fund, and maybe we can make the world a better place.

I think the racetrack has been a great outlet for folks who do want to race in a safe manner, rather than on the freeways.

I think they probably should have done something about possibly helping find another area for a racetrack rather than just saying, 'See you later,' 

It is a little bit of a disadvantage not running it, not testing it, but it is not like we don't know anything about it. We have had that car in the wind tunnel. We have had that car on the racetrack previously.

Unfortunately Woodbine Racetrack is not a venue that will be available for this year's sale, but we're thrilled to be able to offer the Canadian Open at a terrific facility like Country Heritage Park. We've been hosting the auction on Sundays in recent years, but a Wednesday format allows us to proceed with as little inconvenience as possible to horsemen and potential buyers.

We're still trying to find a happy spot with this new chassis, and even though this Pontiac GTO has been very good lately, we definitely keep gaining on it every week. We're pretty pleased right now, but you have to look for even better and that's what we tried to do during our two days of testing at Indy. We experimented with shocks and springs and stuff like that, trying to find something that will help us. At the same time we wanted some laps on this racetrack because even though it will be different when we come back, there are some characteristics that are going to be the same.

We have to keep our fans watching not just at home on TV but here at the racetrack too. This is where you sell people on the speed and excitement of racing.

There is certainly significant quality in our book both in terms of the quality of the horses at the end of the shank and in their racetrack performance. We had a bunch of horses that worked well during our first under tack show, they looked good doing it, and they look good when you go to the barn. In the 2-year-old sales, you've got to pass all three tests, and we had a number of horses that I thought passed all three tests with flying colors in the first preview. They have good conformation, they looked good on the video, and they worked within a reasonable timeframe in terms of demonstrating some level of athletic ability.

With my father and uncle so involved in racing, it was the only thing I ever knew, so I'm sure that had a huge influence on me. However, my father had more influence on me just by the way he lived, because the way he was at the racetrack was the way he was in everyday life.

We usually run well at Michigan ... I used the whole racetrack coming off turn four and that probably hurt us a little bit. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

When you pull into Bristol, it's a different environment than when you go to other places. How you have to drive the racetrack is so intense and so aggressive. Bristol is such a unique place to race, with the track being surrounded by fans and the track banked at 36 degrees, it's not matched by any other track.

We've had some success at Fontana, but have never won there. It's a lot like Michigan, which is a track I really like, but the banking is a little less at California. I like the racetrack and, hopefully, we'll have some success there this weekend. We ran decent in February at Fontana, but we never really got a handle on the car. Hopefully we'll improve on that this week.

We do not profile anyone that comes into our arena, stadium or racetrack on any basis. There was no profiling of our customers. I want to make that clear.

Running late tonight gave us a chance to run in perfect conditions, ... I know we won't have conditions like this tomorrow but we did learn that this racetrack can hold a lot more than we've been giving it.

This track is a challenge, that's best thing I can say about it, and drivers like challenges. I think I speak for all the drivers (in the IRL) when I say we can't wait to come out here. It's a great racetrack and the fans have also been great.

It's not just New Hampshire, it seems like it's at every racetrack we go to, ... It seems like the big thing is getting through the middle of the corner. That's what you have to focus on the most.

That's something I tried to do last year and again modeled that pattern this year -- just to run each of the regular-season races as if they were important, and they are definitely. But the final 10 and the intensity and pressure and anxiety to get to the racetrack and to have a solid finish . . . the final 10 is definitely so intense that you can wear yourself out before you even get there.

That is a heck of a racetrack and I know all the drivers are looking forward to coming out there. I think the people of Northern California are really going to enjoy the show.

We lost last year by eight points, and we had some troubles at the start of the Chase, ... This year, hopefully, we'll make the right decisions and not have any weird things happen to us, and I won't make any mistakes on the racetrack and stay clean throughout.

It's a great racetrack. This is the kind of racetrack we need. Tracks that are real wide and real easy to drive, somebody hits the setup.

I fished Saturday and it was very good on the racetrack between Camano Head and Hat Island.
