Overwhelming is the only word that comes to mind. This morning, I cried a little bit -- I think it kind of hit me, the journey that I have been through personally, and the journey of Ryan and me.

Overall, I'm very pleased with how we played tonight. Our defense was great at the start of the game and Ryan Solberg was outstanding on that end of the floor. But then we lost some of that intensity and West got back into the game. We weathered the West storm in the second half and got back on track. This was a very nice W for the kids.

Our goalie Ryan Bock had the most incredible save I have ever seen in high school soccer. He stopped a shot that should have gone in and then got back up to stop another shot. Even the ref, who is supposed to be impartial, was clapping. It was a real morale booster.

Our success this year will depend on how well our pitching comes around. Brian had good success as a freshman, so we expect that to continue and improve. I've seen some real good things from Ryan and Rhett as well.

I think Ryan has experience, he's a good competitor. The question is can his experience and competitiveness help us as we go down the stretch? That's the reason why we picked him up.
