It's been a strange day - a day when I thought I was on top of the world, planning my life. I planned all of my courses for the rest of the semester at Smith, and talked to my advisor about honoring in History.

It's been a lot better this semester because we're doing a lot of things fundamentally better. Our tackling is almost-near perfect, and our ball-handling has improved tremendously.

They probably could have pressed more in the first semester, but on the road, you just tend to get conservative sometimes. As I've had time to look back over the first semester during the break, if there's something I would go back and change we'd play a more aggressive style of basketball even though we played so many road games.

I am not surprised. Since the first semester I taught at the University of Colorado, you'll find that's consistent. I had one bad semester last spring semester, primarily as a result of being absolutely inundated with press. We had reporters sitting in the classroom.

I believe last semester we didn't have anyone removed. I would have never expected this to happen.

College can be overwhelming, so we see a lot of them start out, then drop out after the first semester because they just can't handle it. They need time to get stable, to get economically accustomed to the stresses of trying to live on their own.

I dedicate this semester to Brittany. The moment when it started to hit me was when I sat in my car, and thought about my own daughter.

So basically, I graduated high school a semester early.

All of the shows we are offering this semester appeal to many different kinds of audiences. These are all acts the students have been asking for and we have created a good balance with some larger events and some smaller ones.

The interns are not all beginning students. I often say we specialize in moms around here. Women who have been out of the work world while raising their families are encouraged to take the Reporting 1 class and spend a semester here with us, learning about and reporting on the community.
