Tires were so bald on the truck that the air was showin' through, and I had to drive 50 miles an hour because the vibration was so bad.

Because I select my players from a feeling that comes to me when I am with them, a certain sympathy you might call it, or a vibration that exists between us that convinces me they are right.

We had a vibration with the car after the second practice today. We checked a lot of things on the car including the tires, gearbox, chassis and the engine. Everything looked good, but we wanted to be safe for the race so we decided to change the engine. That way we are ready for warm-up and the race. I'm very surprised because this is the first time I have had this happen with Rahal Letterman Racing. We can work out some more things in warm-up and the car will be set to go. The car felt very good in traffic in the practice. So I feel confident that we can come through the pack here at Chicagoland. Some other tracks you couldn't do, that but here it is possible.

Of course fixing this vibration is now our main focus and today we worked a lot with the entire team to try to find the right way forward. We had great cooperation between the two riders and both crews, exchanging information and experience and this is very important for the team's progress. We've been working on data collection today and we will continue tomorrow, trying some new things and gathering more information to help us. We've already done many days testing with this new bike and mostly it's going very well, now we have two more days here to continue with our improvement.

The plan calls for several days holding there while the vibration levels are analyzed. The extent of analysis that is required is based on the amount of vibration level at each of these monitors. This will go on for several weeks at each power level.

It is pretty disappointing, really, especially as Rick showed how fast our cars can go. We noticed a drive-line vibration in the morning session, and we tried to fix it before qualifying. Unfortunately, it was worse, and because we thought it could be unsafe, we had to sit it out. However, the boys will change the tail-shaft and we will see how we go tomorrow.

Use vibration with caution. If you see you're getting any breaking of rock, you've got to back off.

We heard the sound of an engine going overhead and then shortly after we felt a large vibration on the house, almost as if someone was banging into the side of our house.

We still have quite a few problems with the vibration and this means that we can't use the bike to its full potential and make fast lap times. We've tried lots of changes to the set-up today - balance, suspension, but the problem remains. In some of the fast corners my speed is down by as much as 15 or 20kms. We don't know where the markets are going, ... We have to observe what's going down, see the trends, look at every vibration on the market, prepare the technology and jump when consumers start to think one way or the other.

Vibration uses energy. So you have to find ways to control vibration.

Then all of a sudden the bike switched off and that's when my race ended. The only thing we can do is to analyse the data to find the problem. This is a weekend to put in the archive and hope for a better performance at Phillip Island where I finished eighth last year.

There's so much vibration when that occurs that you lose visibility, your eyes are shaking in your head and it feels like you're sitting on top of a spin drier.

There's one monitor that the vibration there requires more analysis than the others. That's built into the plan and the NRC is overseeing this.

I've got a car that's as good as my teammates are and they're out there running out front, but I just wasn't in the right position. I was just kind of taking it easy there and the motor gave up. It had been vibrating for a little while. We've got a chronic vibration issue. I don't know, sometimes it makes a difference and sometimes it doesn't, but obviously today it did.

It's great to equal Mick's record but the numbers are not the most important thing today because this win was a great emotion after my problems with the crash in the first race and some vibration problems with my new bike.

The sensor is programmed so that when a vibration of a certain frequency increases, it can respond. For example, it could shut down to protect the system, or turn on a light that warns the user that the motor should be inspected or replaced within a certain interval of time. This would enable the efficient replacement of a motor instead of waiting for it to blow.

It's easier to have friends over for longer periods of time, because my parents can't hear and they'll just go to bed. But if the music's too loud my dad will hear the vibration and come out and yell at us. But I don't take advantage of them.
