We have to be a little more consistent over the next couple weeks. We need to take better care of the ball and get back to rebounding the way we know how. This is the toughest part of the season mentally, but I think we'll be OK.
This wasn't one of our better games offensively. We rushed some decisions and got caught up in the competitive nature of the game. We didn't do a very good job finishing the game, but a win's a win.
We played some of the best defense we've played all year in the second half. (North Medford) really struggled to get into any kind of offensive flow the entire second half, and we were able to take advantage of their mistakes.
We did everything in our power, but when your three biggest girls foul out, there's not much you can do. We couldn't get any continuity in the second half because the kids couldn't be as aggressive as they were in the first half. It really threw us off balance.
We played with very little emotion, but it was nice to get a win under our belts again. We held them down on the offensive end for most of the game, so that was a big positive. We were very businesslike on both ends of the floor.
We knew it was going to be a war. This was our most physical game by a long shot and we're pretty bruised up. But we played solid defense all night and made them take difficult shots. That was the biggest key.
To me, that was the key. Katie basically took her out of the game. This is the first time this season that anyone in the SOC has been able to contain her.
We're going to have to be more fleet-footed than we were tonight. They're pretty good on the perimeter and they have a lot of kids who have been around a while.
We struggled from the field a bit in the first half, but we came out and worked twice as hard in the second. These kids know when they're not playing well, and tonight they made the right adjustments at the half and just jumped on 'em.
We've got 14 more games to worry about and those are the ones that count. The kids are excited to prove that they can play with anyone.
Tonight was our third game in four days.
We did a good job defensively early on. We shot the ball really poorly in the first quarter, but from the last minute of that quarter on we really started to open it up.
We did a great job of executing in all three games, and we're only going to get better once Julie is back. We still want to become more efficient and I know the girls will continue to work hard every day.
I've never felt so sorry for a group of kids in my life. We outplayed them in every facet of the game and then this happens. I honestly feel like the better team didn't win tonight, and the kids are taking it pretty hard.
That part I don?t worry about as much with this group. I was totally impressed with what we did tonight ? especially in the first half.
Anything we threw up there, they had an answer for. They?re a good team. Good teams are able to make adjustments, and they did.
It's a shame that these girls have to end their careers this way. Our season shouldn't have ended tonight.
It wasn't pretty at all. We were trying to dig ourselves out of a hole all night. We had a hard time defending people and a hard time making shots. It was just one of those nights.
This was a big one for us. Defensively we put all kinds of pressure on them and forced them into a lot of bad shots.
