Excellent cost control was seen in particular in R&D expenditure that came in significantly lower than we expected. As a result the operating and net loss was lower than expected.

The major disappointment was that no deal was announced, because it reflects that it's more difficult than the market thought, that the process may take longer or that the price won't be as high. The cash cows aren't the cash cows people expected and a buyer basically doesn't have to have it.

Though it's not clear what is going to happen now, the latest move indicates that the company is more likely to remain on a stand-alone basis and pursue takeovers.
