I was going to do something during election time (in my own class).

Our biggest issue is, what is community service? Volunteering is obvious, (like) going to a senior center, soup kitchen, etc. With service learning, kids give a lifelong service (to their communities).

What we're doing is making the connection to the kids (about) what it means to be a contributing citizen. That leaves a door open for communication.

They can be learning how to be good helpers.

We will be promoting students to be effective communicators and contributing citizens.
