I was scared. I mean, no one's going to get excited when someone tells you they're going to have to cut your chest open and take out your heart.
My life is dedicated to that man. I hear from his mom and family that's the only thing that keeps them going, is knowing that their son's heart - the heart is really the most symbolic organ I think - is living on and pumping on and that's the only thing that keeps them going.
After the surgery I could barely stand up. It's really frustrating having to take slow steps back.
I'm having a great time. It's obviously fun, but I don't think about baseball when I'm in bed. I think about how I'm able to breathe, how I'm able to sleep.
