I have given it some thought that this could be my last game with the Vikings. My mom and sister are coming, and I want this game to be special. And whatever happens, I want the fans to know it's been an honor to wear the purple and gold.

No question. We're certainly appreciative. We're glad to have him. I think his presence has done a lot for our team. I think what he adds is a confidence. He's very confident in his ability, and any time your chief and your general is confident, the troops will follow.

You've got to tweak your game to the rule changes. Now it's a flag if you turn into a guy while trying to make a play. It didn't used to be that way. I got flagged one time for turning my head. 'You didn't turn it away,' the official said. Now why would I want to turn away from a ball that was coming my way?

I like the players we've got here. It's important to see what they do with some of the veteran leaders who are free agents like Keith Newman and Lance Johnstone. There are a lot of decisions to be made.

It will just be one of those things where guys have to step up.

Certainly when you look at the success of our league, you have to be happy with the job (Tagliabue) has done.

It was a good fit. Overall, what they expect from me and what I need to do, in terms of producing, that's what I expect. I feel good about all of that.

You want to get a heads up on maybe what some guy can do because you're going to be playing against him in a couple months. They don't necessarily have a book on us, but we certainly can have a book on them.

You've got a lot of good coaches on this staff. Ted Cottrell did a great job this year. I think he'd be a great head coach. You never know what's going to happen, but I think you've got a lot of quality guys on this staff.

It's a shame to see him retire. But whoever's next up certainly has a big responsibility to carry on. Certainly as time wears on, there will be new challenges.

They're dictating that you have to go to zone coverage because they spread you out so much, ... It's amazing how many empty backfields you see these days.
