We could have had media day in a pup tent. You came down here to race and you went in the garage and worked on your car. They tried to hype it up and add TV. There wasn't the intensity that you have in the sport now. People are getting pulled in so many different directions; it's hard to have fun.

Understand that the sponsors are the people that are making this sport happen. It's not the purses; it's the sponsors. The sponsors want to be in Texas, they want to be in California, they want to be in Las Vegas.

We can't change the past. Those tracks have always been there and those races have always been there. What NASCAR has to look at is the future -- and this place is the future.

Our sport is in a changing of the guard right now. It happens every 10 or 15 years, and Brad is the leader of that change at the moment. Sometimes his words and outspokenness offend some folks, but he doesn’t back down from his comments. He doesn’t back down in his driving either, and when competitors see him coming in the rearview mirror, they have to be wondering what he’ll do and what he’s thinking. I think fans love that and gravitate to drivers like Brad.

I've been watching Joey Miller in the ARCA Series and he's done a great job, ... If he can come close to what he's done in ARCA in the Craftsman Truck Series, that would definitely be big for us.

I've been fortunate to win many times, in many series. But there is still that goose egg in the truck series. I plan on changing that come Oct. 22nd, when it's one and done for me. The No. 17 made it to Victory Lane, so I'd like to get (my No.) 12 there, too.

I had talked to Michael and asked him to give me some idea who I should be looking at, and he immediately mentioned David. I didn't know much about him, but I started checking into him and I like him a lot. He's a hands-on guy. He doesn't mind getting his hands dirty. He comes from a racing family, and it always seems like those guys do well.

I didn't know I was in the movie until last week when I was doing a cable show at home and somebody e-mailed the host with a picture of the guy playing me. Well, it doesn't look like me. Somebody who saw the movie says it doesn't sound like me. And I'm pretty sure it doesn't act like me.

I love racing at Martinsville - always have. I've won there 11 times in the past, but knowing this is definitely the last time racing there does make me sad. I love the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series because it's a great place for these young drivers to get their feet wet, and it gives old guys like me the chance to go out and have some fun. But we're definitely one and done this time at Martinsville.

The IRL needs guys like us to help tell their story, because they've got a good one to tell. Rusty will be good, and I'm happy for him because this will help get him ready for (2007).

It's kind of appropriate that we're here at the Nashville Superspeedway today and he gets his first major win, ... ... He is not out of the championship hunt, and he's going to win some more races. I'm really excited for today, sure, but for what's going to happen down the road as well.

It's hard to have a good time and do your job. We'd get our cars inspected; we'd cover the car up and go to the beach. We'd go to the liquor store and buy a case of beer and sit on the beach or go sit in the lounge at the hotel maybe until it was time to come back the next day.

I can't believe it. The Aaron's ad campaign has been a lot of fun for me over the years, but I seriously thought I would never get to race that car. I really appreciate Michael and Aaron's and, of course, my wonderful and supportive wife Stevie, for giving me this opportunity.
