She's a big reason why we're still moving on. She's been doing it all year.
(Lindsey) has stepped up for us in other games, but we have to give her a lot of credit. When she got going, then everybody got going and that really helped us.
Sure it's a disappointment, but the kids didn't give up. Give them credit for fighting back and making a run at them.
Jess was a big part of that winning streak.
Jess plays the whole game inside and battles hard. She?s just a warrior.
I was worried about rebounding. We talked about that at halftime.
We have to hope for some things to happen now. We have to bounce back from this.
We made a run at them in the fourth, but we had to foul to stop the clock and they made their free throws.
It was tough holding back the tears. I told the girls we appreciated the ride they took us on this season. I don't think anyone expected these girls to do as much as they did. They're winners, and they made a lot of believers out of people.
We went to Aspen, Colorado last year, and to Park City, Utah this year. The second big trip is during spring break. Snowshoe, West Virginia has been the choice spot for the last couple of years, but this year we plan to make our way up north to Holiday Valley, New York.
The best benefits by far, though, are the friendships acquired.
Hopefully our point guard?s going to be OK. (Danville?s) coaches were telling them to foul, they had one to give. We never got the foul (call) on the play but the girl?s still laying here a half hour later. Maybe the refs should have seen that.
It was a poor shooting night again. We had the opportunities, but the shots weren't falling. We held them to 37 points and still lost. We just couldn't convert.
We challenged our kids. Someone wrote in one of the papers that no one would want to play Shamokin in February. I told them 'you've got the chance girls and it won't be easy.' We had a long time to practice for them and the kids just executed perfectly tonight.
We just want to have a good time with good friends.
They really put the clamps on us in the third, and we stopped scoring. They started doubling the ball, which is something we practiced for. But it's just not the same as in a game.
They're playing a lot better now. They're playing for their playoff lives. They're a lot more experienced now, and Deckard isn't a freshman anymore.
I don't think the consistency (in the officiating) was there. The kids didn't know what was being called.
