At this time of year there are approximately 19,000 cars per day traveling from 589 to Coastal Highway that will need to be diverted.

For each day past the May 12 deadline the contractor will be fined $3,000.

There will always be at least two lanes open on Coastal Highway, but we will be completely taking up the old road.
