We're a business. When these things happen, we have to raise costs to keep operating. We have cut back on services and programs the last few years to save money.

We're helping students from the roughly 30 schools that announced they are closed indefinitely in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

We're going to come back. It's one thing to grow, but we have to take a close look at not growing too fast so we can provide the proper services.

We're basically removing all of the procedural barriers--such as late fees--and speeding the admission and enrollment process for qualified students so they can enroll for fall semester. Whatever students need to make this happen, we're going to take care of it. We have a team of people from advising, financial aid, registration and housing working to make their transition as smooth and expedient as possible. Ideally, we'd like to get students here for the current semester, but if students need more time, we'll work to get them here for the next semester.

In another week or two, we won't be admitting anyone unless it's an extreme case. I just think it's not going to benefit students no matter how desperate they are for education.
