We've been in a narrow range all day with light buying, but this is to be expected at the beginning of the new year.

The tech sector continues to be a drag. Outside the manufacturing sector, the market still has a long way to go.

A late-day push like this is nice to see, and there's been some decent volume, which is important, but I'm not convinced it's a trend yet. Another couple of days of good earnings would bode well for this market.
