He looks, acts and is built like a catcher. Is he going to be a pitcher that hits 90 mph? No. How about the outfield? He's got average high school speed with a decent bat. But can he throw a 2.0 to second, pop-to-pop? Yes. He's got a Division I arm behind the plate.
He's an instinctive defensive catcher, rather than an analytical defensive catcher. I think he's confident he can do anything without over-analyzing. He's a see-the-ball, hit-the-ball type guy.
It's a great thing. Everyone gets a chance to play. We play a lot of innings and kids come together as a team. It was a great week.
That's pretty much a power pitcher right there.
