She's a hard worker. She's playing basketball all the time. I see great things coming from her next year. Next year the challenge is that they will be keying on her.

Missed free throws killed us. (Bonner) put their free throws in when it counted. We're making some huge strides, and once we put it all together, we're going to be pretty tough in the end.

Most people by then would have looked and said we're done, we're out. But no, we kept shooting three's and they were falling for us. We were making our way back in it. There just wasn't enough time to get it done.

She has a lot of basketball knowledge. She played pretty decent defense early, but by the end of the year she was pretty solid defensively. It's nice to know that we have someone that is a true point guard.

I don't think she had two points in the entire first half (against Bonner). And she had 18 in the second half. We knew she was scoring but we didn't think she had quite that many points.

Basically the girls just hung in there and pulled it out in the end. They just weren't ready to give up.

We talked a little bit about what they were doing defensively and how we needed to look more offensively as far as executing and looking to shoot. I think we had a couple shots there in the beginning and they didn't fall for us so we pulled back a little from that. I don't know if it's because we're nervous or what.

Our leading scorer every game, except when we played Atchison, hasn't been more than a three-point difference. So, what's working in our advantage, is when they all can score we're pretty tough.

I was a little concerned. I really think we needed this win to remind them that they can compete. They went out strong in the first half.

I thought we did a pretty decent job on the boards. I mean, I was not complaining about that. Julia (Meyer), Liz (Graham) and Gina (Greenwood) all of them hit the boards hard tonight. They put a body on somebody and they were after everything, offensively and defensively.

We allowed them back in the game on some threes, and they got to the free throw line too many times.

That was one of the things we talked about at halftime. Down at the end every foul is a free throw basically.

This win really helps us heading into the post-season. It's always nice to finish on a good note.

We're getting real used to playing against bigger people. Perry's the only team we've played so far that we match up with size-wise.

We were doing a pretty good job building that lead, but where we had our difficulties was sealing it off. That's something we've had trouble with.

Bottom line was they had 16 minutes to continue their season. I think no matter what we put in there, they knew that in the back of their minds that they had 16 minutes to decide whether they wanted to continue on to Thursday or tonight was it.

In the first quarter we were executing offensively. We were looking to score. We had open shots, we were taking them and they were being extremely aggressive on the defensive end which helps us out a lot.

They were playing man-to-man the entire time. We beat them up the floor a couple times, and we executed and we took good shots.

The girls played hard, and they were excited after the game.

That's one thing we've been saying about these girls from the beginning. If anything, they have a lot of heart and they didn't quit. They were playing as hard as they possibly could up until the last second of that game.

We just continually tried to keep fresh legs on her. They were screening for her all over the place. We knew that was coming. We just had to switch or fight through and just try to keep somebody on her all the time. She's just a good player.

It's been a struggle. We've struggled with (the press) all year. I think every team in the league is probably aware that that's one of our problems, but we keep taking strides everyday in practice.

This is the second game in a row that we've shown we can break the press. And them not scoring a three in the third or fourth quarter is huge. That says something about our defense.

For the most part, like I said, I'm not disappointed with these girls, I'm not disappointed with this season. I'm just thankful for the opportunity to work with them.
