I always like to see them because I coached them in junior high. They're all nice kids but it would be nice to get over the hump and get a win.

We'd get together for group runs this summer and I had a good turnout. Most of them ran a 5K or a 10K over the summer.

The No. 5 is the question mark for the team with the departure of Ashley. It's open to a freshman, a sophomore, whomever. It's pretty cut and dried in cross country. They'll all have the chance to show what they can do.

It's progress. We talked about three meets where we got second last year and wanting to move up. We're 1-for-1 so far.

We finished second in our invitational as a team. Then we finished second in the regional as a team. In between those, we finished second in our conference as a team. With four girls back, I think there's only one way to go.
