I was surprised when I saw them in the tournament. I didn't follow them closely after we played them. But when I looked at their record and saw they won 24 games, it makes sense.

One official from (Thursday's) game against Corpus officiated a high school game the night before. Yeah, you better believe that worries me.

We wanted to slow Brewer down and make it a low-scoring game. In the first half we did that. In the second half, the sheer physicality of Arkansas dominated the game. Their better athletes took over.

We got in foul trouble in the post in the second half, and we couldn't maintain the presence inside. They knew that when the ball went up, they could go get it. They had a field day.

They did a good job and were patient because most of the shots they hit were late in the shot clock. They got us to move and got us out of position and found some gaps. And they're good shooters.

I really think Ben can help us this year, ... Hes not going to play major minutes, but hes a guy that can come off the bench and make some big shots for us. He has the shooting ability, and hes a smart player, so were going to use him.

Hopefully, if all goes well, they leave here 1-9 on the road. Our thing is, looking at our remaining (seven) games, we believe we can win out. And if we play like we're capable, that can really happen.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm not going anywhere unless somebody higher than me makes the decision not to bring me back. I've been here for seven years, two as the head coach and five as an assistant (under Bob Hoffman). I like the Valley, I like the school, this is my home and I'm not planning on going anywhere right now.

The bottom line is we've got to shoot the ball better. We can't shoot like that and expect to win games. That's all there is to it.

The good thing is that we're not sitting around doing nothing.

For me, Im looking forward to listening to Jerry Krause speak,

Its not going to be easy to replace a guy like Sergio, but we like what Larry brings to the table, ... Hes fast, and up to this point, hes done everything that we could have asked him to do. He probably wont be the type of scorer as Sergio, but as far as getting other guys the ball, hes going to do just that.

It was as frustrating a night as I've ever had as a coach from the get-go.

They're our rivals, and at this point we're just trying to get a win. A win would mean a lot right now.

I'd say Arkansas is every bit as good as Illinois, the best team we've played. Illinois is a little more savvy, but Arkansas is as athletic, or more athletic than Illinois.
