I think the conference was a great success.
I think the cost should be borne mainly by the government and if teachers are to bear any cost of it (upgrading), the government should provide them with loans.
We again welcome the establishment of the $500-million revolving loan fund for teachers.
We are going to be very strategic. We will be looking forward to double-digit increase in each year of the contract.
The fund could be further bolstered by a special education transformation bond issue, floated locally as well as throughout the Diaspora.
It is unfortunate that we have this disruption at the beginning of the school year.
