I think the freshmen have done an unbelievable job becoming part of the team. They come here ready to work from day one all the way back in August. They've worked hard and earned our respect, and they've proved that they deserve to be here and play at this level.
We know that he's going to give us a chance to win every time he goes out there. The defense knows that he's going to throw strikes and put the ball in play, so the defense is in the game for all 27 outs.
I've been a little overdue. I felt like I've been pressing a little at the plate the last couple of weeks.
This is huge. To be able to get a win against the No. 1 team in the country on Sunday and then come back on Friday and get a win against No. 2, it does wonders for the confidence of this team.
It was a fastball on the inside part of the plate. I was looking for something in be-cause that's where they had thrown a lot to me this weekend. I just stayed within myself and let my hands do the work.
It's definitely different. But, if we stay with our approach and concentrate on what we can control and get ourselves ready to play, we'll be ready to go.
It was only one run. I knew that if I could hold them at one run that our offense would come around and luckily we did.
It was a much different feeling in a good way. I was just trying to get back on the bump and stay in a rhythm. I was able to relax and focus on pounding the zone.
This team is a little more well-rounded. We can get something started from any spot in the lineup and the pitching staff hasn't been this deep.
I feel completely confident with them. They came in and worked hard and earned my respect and the team's respect. They all are going to be counted on to step up. They are going to be fine.
