I beat the brush extensively, and raised a good amount of money. Our sponsors were real good to us. We raised enough last year to get the ball rolling.
It was the perfect week for the team to give themselves permission to lose, and they took full advantage of it.
Normally I probably wouldn't have been too sad about that record. It's the way we went 3-3. We started off 3-0, then dropped three to end it. For a lot of guys last year, it was a new experience. You can have a loss or setback and still do well enough to win your conference.
I don't promote the team as a stepping stone to a higher level. I don't think it's realistic.
The more players you can get with a college background, the better. They're used to structure, and they know it works.
