If it stays pretty dry out there, the tournament is still won and lost on the greens. Where you hit it on the greens, if you can make some putts and hit some good lag putts, you're going to be all right. The greens, I still think, make the whole golf course.
People kid Phil, but he's one of the most intelligent persons I've ever been around. He's always thinking ahead. He's a smart man. He's really worked his butt off to learn this golf course.
I think the golf course is based on tradition. By changing the golf course, I think you lose a little bit of that tradition. We'll see how it plays out this year. Maybe it's time for a new tradition to be written too. Who knows?
We played about five holes with no wind, and then it started blowing. We played pretty much the whole back side with at least a 10-15 mph wind. It plays tricky. We just don't know the golf course well enough yet.
You may see guys show up next year here with two drivers. Guys keep changing the golf course, and we keep thinking of ways to make it easier to play.
I like the golf course. It's not standing there and shooting darts all the time. Yeah, we've had some high winds, and conditions have been tough. I just like playing that way.
I met a gentleman who gave me a golf ball from when I finished one of my matches there. It was old and yellow.
