I was fortunate. A lot of it has to do with fate. I knew coming in we had a good talent base. And that this is a good organization. But there were fewer obstacles to winning here than I thought there would be.

He came into it new, and spent countless hours learning the craft, talking with people around the league to find out what it is he needs to do, and given that opportunity, how he would approach being a head coach. We would argue and dog cuss each other about game plans every week. We would get at each other. In the end, we'd be bloody, but we'd have a good game plan.

We need to look at some players that we don't want to let get out of here for lack of a good solid look, ... We need to get some key players -- Jamal, Peter and Todd -- that first good initial hit. That is a huge priority. We have got to see if we can have a certain continuity about us.

I've told our guys, let's just get to the midpoint of the season and stick our heads up out of the sand and take a look around, see where we're at, ... And if we're still in this thing, and Pittsburgh hasn't run away with the division, I won't be embarrassed at all to be in the playoff race or to be going into the playoffs at 8-8. Not one bit. We feel pretty good about ourselves.

With Young, you knew we were going to beat him up. He was just too good to be true. The problem that I see, personally, is I don't know who you compare him to. I think that makes people uncomfortable.

We've had a lot of success with a certain profile, ... I'm not sure that as much as we've tried to change the profile a little bit -- and I think we have enhanced it, I think we've thrown the ball a little bit better -- it hasn't been as productive. I think we can build on that, but our profile should remain the same: Play good defense and run the ball well, which we haven't done in two games. That certainly has to be a focus.

The good news is we've been down this road with Anthony. The qualifier is, with the year off Anthony had a lot of rust to knock off, and I think he's done that.

You saw a more physical style or approach in hitting the hole, ... You saw those good tough runs, taking a couple of guys, always getting positive yards, and that is Jamal's game. We expect to build on that with every week. I liked what I saw in terms of the temperament via particularly what we talked about all last week with Jamal.

They (Indianapolis) give up a lot of yards, they give up a lot of 10-play drives, but they're one of the best teams in the league about keeping you out of the end zone once you get down there. They play to that strength and wait for their offense to get a lead, and that formula worked tonight.

Any player you bring in, you have to be concerned about team chemistry. It's not necessarily the guy may or may not be a bad apple. It's just in terms of demeanor and work ethic. We have very good team chemistry. This team has been together for a while and has developed a certain camaraderie. You don't want to disrupt that.

I told the team before the game they didn't quite seem to have the passion and intensity you need to have every time you step on the field. That's something this team is usually good at. That concerns me a little bit.
