I'd like for him to be more accurate, ... I thought he rushed a few things. The game will slow down for him, it will. The next time he walks out there, he'll see things more clearly.
He has got to do his part. But something we lose sight of from time to time, he is a part of the equation, but he is not the full equation.
I think our team is excited about the destination. You want this to be a reward. You want them to have a good time and enjoy where they are. We've got a game to play ? we realize the importance of that and we want to play well.
I think it's a good time to put some new ideas and new thoughts into the offense.
Time will tell that Auburn is a pretty good football team,
Big plays are the key. If you can keep teams from making the big plays, then you have a chance to keep them from scoring. They have a hard time going the length of the field on our defense,
We didn't have the protection schemes in place that we needed to maybe get the ball thrown downfield. Especially third downs, we ended up getting sacked. We obviously just played poorly overall. We ended up in third and long seemingly every time we turned around.
Every time somebody doesn't practice, it gives somebody else an opportunity. Taylor has been practicing very, very well. He's been a very pleasant surprise this spring. His accuracy has been a good positive.
A lot of people say, 'Find a way to win,' like it's hiding behind a corner somewhere. I say, 'Make a way to win.' Most of the time you need to make things happen. They don't just happen.
Any time you have a brand new quarterback, things function differently. Everybody has certain talents and abilities, and you're trying to turn things toward that. But you don't just turn everything on a dime. It takes time.
It takes time to get everybody on the same page. Jason Campbell had certain abilities and Cox has certain abilities. We'll have to adjust accordingly.
It's OK. It's not where it needs to be. Most of that is because of injuries and not having enough time playing together.
They didn't do anything fancy or unusual that we haven't worked on, but when you play them, you have to get ready for a ton of stuff. When you haven't spent a ton of time on something, sometimes they get you, and they got us good.
This was the first time he's stepped up and made a bunch of plays in a row.
He's obviously a little better than the last time I saw him, ... We'll work him back slowly. We're not going to take any chances. We'll have to make sure he understands the process to get him back to full speed. If he practices, he'll want to take every snap.
For the little bit of practice time he's had, I thought he handled everything very well.
