Last year we went to a meet in N.Y. on the same course, so that will be a benefit to us. Otherwise, we won't really approach anything differently. We have a couple of big meets to prepare us for what it's going to be like at the BIG EAST meet.
We were getting a little frustrated just in that we were looking for some good weather. And for the third meet in a row we didn't get it. This time of year it's kind of hit and miss, and we have been unlucky.
Every single one of our athletes has had a good summer of training. We will be ready to contend throughout the season. We don't want to go to the conference meet as C-USA champions with the same team we had last year and finish seventh or eighth at the conference meet.
There is always room for improvement in every area. We are just looking to improve as a whole track team. We want to make the conference meet the best meet of the year.
The Big East was the focal point of our indoor season, so this was more a meet for people who didn't go to that. We wanted something close and something that was a little more low key.
It was a good meet for us. It showed that we're starting to come around and the fact that we qualified so many people for the Big East showed that we're starting to get ready for the Championships.
There was good competition, but not great. This upcoming weekend we will have a lot more competition. It will be tough. This meet was good practice.
There wasn't a lot of high-powered competition. There were mainly non-Division I schools, but there were definitely some very good athletes. There was not as much competition as a typical meet that we go to, but that's what we wanted right before the Big East conference.
