By nature, I'm a person who always says that whatever I've done, I could've done better. But I don't dwell on it because I'm waiting for the next time something happens and try to believe that my past experience will have helped to educate me in terms of how I deal with future ones.
Usually I come into the office and say, 'Will someone please time the last three minutes of this game that took 22 minutes and tell me why? I'm not sure that we're showing our fans our best basketball.
We've had a very good year because people are talking about the game. They're complaining about the game, they're praising the game, they think it's good, they think it's bad, but it's about the game. Any time it's about the game it's fine from my perspective.
Now, it's a much more casual approach. But our referees are always attired a certain way based upon their job description when they come into the building. Our coaches are attired a certain way when they come on the court. We decided that it was time (for the players).
Right now, we're operating on the assumption that the team is returning in 2007-2008. I think that that will pretty much reveal itself by this time next year -- the All-Star Game in Las Vegas.
I'm having as good a time as I've ever had. All systems are go.
