On day six, we are now seeing the Olympic Games really getting into their stride. They are really focusing on sport and on the athletes which at the end of the day is what it is all about.
The IOC means business in the fight against doping. It will use the means necessary to find out where athletes are. Unannounced testing reduces the possibility for any means to be used that might ultimately affect the results of the test.
Anti-doping procedures are being done fully within the rules. Notification to the athletes is being done by anti-doping control officers. They are identified and identifiable.
All exams are carried out according to existing rules. The medical personnel is clearly identified, and the athletes can fill (out) a form or file a complaint if the are not satisfied with the procedure. So far, no issues and complaints have been received.
The fight against doping is to protect athletes who are clean and who respect the rules. It's not a question of fighting against doping for public opinion.
