I'd like to believe we hurt ourselves more than they hurt us. It was dysfunctional management. We had to use timeouts, we had a delay of game penalty, two personal fouls ... We lost our emotion out there, and it hurt us.

We're excited that it's a Big East game, and we're excited that it's West Virginia. For 50 years, this game has been going on. These two teams know each other very well.

We try to play the game on the practice field. Any time players can feel in a simulated-type atmosphere where it's like a ball game, they like it. Even though it's hard work and it's competitive and all of those things, that's our intent. Fun, or whatever it is, I feel like our players have worked really hard. I was informed of the amount (21 points). I will tell you, in my coaching career, this is the most I've ever heard that I was an underdog in a game other than a basketball game that I did win. Obviously, we have quite a test.

We have to worry about getting better. That's the name of the game for us right now. The execution is better. I think (fans are) going to see a more experienced football team than they've seen at this time last year.

There's no reason to have to do it. I'd rather keep the pressure on. We won't wait until game day, though, but I don't feel any pressure to do anything right now. It's just a matter of the three guys continuing to work. I want to keep looking.

It's one thing to go the day before the game when it's empty. It's another thing to go early enough on the day of the game where you can feel the atmosphere already a little bit.

This was really only our fifth game with everybody together this year. We're just now getting into a rhythm. With the (vacation) breaks we had, some players being ineligible and other stuff, we weren't able to put it together before now.
