Habibul Bashar Against Quotations

When we started the series against Sri Lanka, nobody expected us to win anything. But after the first Test (against Australia) everyone had a different impression about us. I think this is our team achievement.

There are still four days to go and you all know that Australia can bounce back from any stage. That's why our first target would be to bat at least two more sessions tomorrow and then we can think about saving the match. There is no scope to be over excited. It would have been satisfactory had we finished the day losing one less wicket. A century would have been good not only for me but also for the benefit of the team. Making a century against Australia is always special for any batsman.

It is not impossible because we have beaten several strong teams in the past, and now we can wish for a win against Sri Lanka too.

I think it is difficult to make any plan successful against a team like Australia. We will better concentrate on our own game.

We know our Test record is not good at all against Sri Lanka. But that all happened in the past. This time we are confident that we can do something what we showed in the one-day series.

We could not fulfill our expectations, but at least we improved against Sri Lanka.

We came into this series right after the one against Sri Lanka, so it was not easy for the guys and you are all aware about the prevalent hot and humid conditions. I think that the Kenyan bowling was also good. If we take all the matters into account you must say that we have played a very good series.

It would be really great if we can carry the tempo into our next home assignment against Australia next month. We know how tough it would be against the World champions but if we can carry the good work to the next series, I think it will be a real success for us.

We are very much happy. We think we achieved a victory in dragging the match to its fifth day against a mighty team.

Compared to our previous matches against Sri Lanka, we have definitely made significant improvements in the first Test. I must say this time we were more competitive than the past. It is untrue that we have not learned from our mistakes. But I agree that we need a lot more to do in the long run.

That victory against Australia has given us the confidence that we can beat any side in the world,

This has been a very good match for us as it has taught us how to fight hard against top teams. It has been satisfying in the end but I thought we lost the match in our second innings.

If you make a postmortem, you will definitely find visible improvement. What made us most happy that we removed the tag that we had been too bad against Sri Lanka in the past. The one-day victory erased bitter memories and I think our Test performance was not bad at all if you consider our previous series.

The much-awaited win will embolden our confidence, which will help us build a fight against any team in future.
