Ian Battles Good Quotations

We had a very good day. This is the first time we've beaten Princeton this year, and to beat both Princeton and Washington by good margins is very pleasing. We ran a great race.

I think the guys returning are all ahead of where they were last year. I just want to see the kids improve during the year. I think Zack will help us a lot this year. He's a very good athlete.

Ben Wright also ran a pretty good race. He's progressing nicely.

We should have fresh legs for the sectional and that will be good. I was pleased that we came so close to a really good team from Jasper.

By the end of the year, I hope the kids will think some of the ideas I had were good and that they are happy with the progress they've made. We're going to try and compete as well as we can. By the time the sectional comes around, we'll see what we can do.

It's been a smooth transition. I'm using some of the things dad did and changing some. I've talked to coach (Ralph) Connor and coach (Bob) Swank to get some ideas. I've had a lot of good people around me.
