We remain committed to a consensual agreement, but we just have seen no movement. At this moment, management has refused to negotiate. They are still at $325 million.

We seek a consensual comprehensive agreement, but we will not be bullied into accepting the overreaching demands currently on the table. We will not capitulate to these demands based on a fear of what may lie ahead. We understand the risks. If our contract is rejected, we will strike.

To state that their proposal demonstrates a lack of commitment to reach an agreement would be a gross understatement.

Faced with this management onslaught our only choice is self defense. We must defend the concept of the pilot working agreement itself. All legal means will be considered.

While I am hopeful that an agreement can be obtained, a decision by the neutral panel on the question of contract rejection is still a real possibility. Our position on a rejected contract has not changed. We will not work willingly without a contract.
