I had one bad swing, ... I hit the ball well, but I played poorly. My putter let me down today, just went cold. I couldn't make it from anywhere.
Really, the only bad shot I hit the whole week was the tee shot at 17. I hit a poor shot. That's my fault.
It is a great start. I'm thrilled to death to be here. I hit the ball really well.
I started out pretty good. But that fifth hole is one of the hard ones and I made a poor swing and hit a flare into the lake. I wasn't that upset. It was early in the round and could still make some birdies.
I left some out there -- I could've birdied every hole on the front nine, and I didn't hit the ball as well on the back nine. We'll see what happens on Sunday.
I hit such a great second shot here at 18 and then Dana hit that great bunker shot. You get to 17 and anything can happen. Unfortunately, neither of us played the hole very well, but I feel bad for Dana that he finished that way.
I hit the ball very solid today, especially on the front nine and got off to a good start. It's nice to get a good round in early because you never know what the weather is going to do here.
It was nice that it went in. Realistically, when I hit it, I was thinking about getting it down there. I just wanted to get it around the hole. It went in a little faster than I wanted it to. But it went in and it went in pretty hard.
It was a good par on 16 and 17 was key. I got to make that putt to even have a chance. Those putts on 17 and 18 were the two best putts I hit all week and they came at the right time. I'm delighted with the way I finished. I finally finished a round off.
It was going a little too hard, but it went right in the back of the hole. That was just icing on the cake. I couldn't have hit a better putt.
I couldn't have asked for a better start to the year. I hit lots of close iron shots and everything started going in starting at No. 3.
