I was so nervous out there in the fairway. I hit a great shot and the wind came my way at the right time.

I needed to shoot a good score today, and I did, ... I played well, got a great break on one hole. I snap-hooked a drive on the par- five seventh into the hazard. It was dead left. It hit a tree and popped out to the front edge of the fairway about 100 yards off the tee. I laid up with a three-iron and hit a sand-wedge about three feet and made a four. It should have been a six or who knows what.

I made four bogeys, three of which were ridiculous with wedges to the green, ... But those things happen. On the bright side I hit six birdies, so I'll take the positives from that. Seventy is a good score.

I've hit a lot of putts the last two days. When it works, it sure feels good. If the claw doesn't work for me, I'll have to find another job.

It surprised me, I started laughing, ... Thomas Bjorn thought that was kind of funny. I was looking down the fairway and just kind of tinged the ball with the toe of my club. I did that one time at the Bob Hope Classic and hit it 60 yards. Almost killed about six old people on the right at Bermuda Dunes.

He's ready. He hit it like he normally does ? missed the fairway for the first six holes and then didn't miss a shot for the next 12.

I drove it phenomenal in the Pro-Am Wednesday. That gave me the enthusiasm coming into today's round because if you don't drive it well here, you're cooked. I think I hit 10 fairways today, but still drove it pretty good.
