I never got into training to be an All-Ireland boxing champ or to win a belt. At the start, I just got into it to learn how to defend myself when I got into situations.

You always want to go after the young guys. You never really want to go after the experienced guys like (Broncos cornerback) Champ Bailey. But we went after Champ a couple times and were pretty successful against him. But we were more successful against the rookie.

We've got our hands full early. George Mason is picked third in their league. Then Oklahoma State the next night is picked third or fourth behind outstanding teams (including defending national champ Texas) in the Big 12 and then South Alabama is picked to win their league.

We were fine with the seventh seed. Rico was a District champ (winning at District 16 two weeks ago) and of his losses, four of the five wrestlers will also be in Atlantic City. Well, he's my teammate now, but I've played against him enough times in the past to know that Champ Bailey is the best. The biggest reasons are his cover skills and his ability to make you pay for any mistake you make. When you don't think he's in position, and you try to take advantage of that, he has such great ability to break to the ball and make up that ground. He'll make you pay, and that's just great cover skills and pure athletic ability. He also doesn't take plays off, so he's always giving you his best.

Two big shows with Grand-Am, the inaugural A1GP event, the return of Champ Car to Road America these are all tremendous venues for our young racers to show what they've got, in front of both savvy race fans and professional team owners and managers.

We are striving, as much as we possibly can, to assist young drivers in advancing to the next level. They are the future of Champ Car racing, and Charles certainly falls into that category.

It has to be Champ Bailey. His ball skills are outstanding. He can break on the ball. He can re-direct a route. His recovery speed is great. He's pure. He's the closest thing to Deion (Sanders) we've probably seen. There aren't a lot of corners you say that you're not going to go after. I'm going to try all of them. But he's the best, and the one you should worry about the most. When we played him last year, he made some hellacious plays. Nathan had a huge smile on his face the whole time, he is a great kid and a huge Champ Car fan! Champ Bailey. He has it all. He's fast. He's quick. He can do it all. He's definitely the best I've faced so far. He's a lockdown guy. He's the guy their coach can say, 'You take him. I don't want to see him catch any balls.' I only caught two balls against him last year; it was a good challenge. There were some routes he covered me on that I hadn't been covered on the previous weeks. It was a challenge. Playing him makes me want to play better.

Champ Bailey. He's strong and quick and everywhere he goes he tries to stick on you. He brings it to another level when he competes.

Champ Bailey just sat on the route and made a great play, ... You don't want to start a half like that, but we still had a lot of football after that.

Champ Bailey. Right now Champ's the only guy who can still go out and play the No. 1 receiver man to man. That makes him special. I haven't played against a lot of corners since this is my third year, but he's the best. Another one to watch is Jacksonville's Rashean Mathis . We've had some good battles

They lost quite a few seniors (from last year), but when you're a state champ you're still the state champ until somebody beats you. We know it's going to be tough. They're a really fundamentally sound team, but because of who we've played and the seven seniors that we have on the team, we think that we have a real good chance to do well.

It's a matter of working out the logistics so that all our member casinos can buy in and support it. From what I understand, Champ Car has been meeting with downtown casinos to make that happen.

Their offense is really in gear where they can score points. And it's hard to run the ball against the defense. They've got a great secondary with the young corners and an All-Pro in Champ (Bailey). I just think they have all the tools to make it.

For me it's great timing because we announced my ride today and now I will get to go talk to media around the country. It's the first time that anything like this has ever been done and I think it's really good for Champ Car. I think it's great that we can go around the country and get out in front of the fans as well and the media and the sponsors.

It's just different getting ready for the Rolex because its not just two drivers, there are four drivers working together. Everything is a bit different, and you are trying to understand between the four people what everyone is looking for, and ultimately how to make the car go quicker for everyone, rather than being focused on just yourself and your car like we tend to be in Champ Car.

It was incredible to see the reception we received in my hometown of Mexico City. The media in Mexico do a great job covering Champ Car and now we know they are also very good football players.

It was a simple decision, really. The circuit was just too tight and we're improving it to maintain Long Beach's status as the premier street race in America. It will not only make for better racing this year, but will provide much more excitement when standing starts are adopted for the Champ Car World Series in the future.

We have a chance to be a little more competitive. We have to play the Super Bowl champ twice and Cincinnati, a playoff team, twice. And Baltimore is still tough. We're in a tough division, and, hopefully, with the guys we added, we can be competitive. We know it won't be easy.

We knew Champ wasn't going to play. You just try to be ready when they say go in.

It's a pleasure to have Andre Ward on the Tarver-Jones 3 card. His accomplishments, including his spectacular gold medal winning performance in the Olympics, have shown that Andre is destined to be a world champ. In as much as Andre is a class gentleman outside the ring as well, I expect that he will be a champ to be proud of, and the HBO PPV fans should tune in early to catch a glimpse of this future star.

It's going to happen. Deion Sanders, Champ Bailey ... everybody's been beat. It's going to happen. I'm going to continue to play aggressive and take my chances at the ball when I get the opportunity.

But why do you have to understand for me to know the point, the commitment to what I believe? See, I have a commitment with God.
