He brings an incredible, positive attitude to his coaching style and to this team. He pushes the players in a different way. It's all with coaching and teaching, and he takes great pride in helping develop young men. He loves our kids.

That's not an issue with Ricardo. There are so many other factors not in play here.

A lot of things were revealed in the last month on many, many fronts. And it became clear to me it was time to make a change.

The University of Colorado is a gold mine ... and we're going to work our tail off to bring a great coach to this program to match the academic standing of this institution. That will be my sole focus.

Dan Hawkins is the type of coach who represents virtually every expectation that I outlined. We will be well on our way to restoring a sense of pride in the Golden Buffaloes.

Clearly, the history of the game and the competitiveness of the game is a great thing. And to put it in this venue is an added plus.
