Having just recently watched a bunch of tape and gone through a game plan a couple weeks ago against the Packers, I definitely have what they do fresh in my mind.

I thought I was going to be a lot more nervous than I was, ... The first play of the game definitely helped. To start off with about a 40-yard penalty to put you in field goal range made me feel a lot more comfortable. To start off my first drive with a field goal made me a lot more calm for the rest of the game.

Our team is really good with our defense and running game, so if I can add a little bit of the passing game to it, I like our chances against anyone.

That was our game plan going in. We saw on tape their safeties come down low for run support and we just used Bernard's speed with our (pass) protection to get a couple plays down the field.

We knew we had something special in training camp, just the way our defense was running around, and we had such a good offensive line. Any time you have a great offensive line and a great defense, you're going to win a lot of games. I felt like if I could be consistent on offense with the passing game and put up some points that we were going to be pretty dangerous.

We all didn't play the game that we practiced and got ready for. What can I say?

Once we get out there on game day, who cares what people said on Monday or Tuesday? It doesn't matter.

I'm OK with it, and I got all the reps in practice this week and had a good week of practice and prepared like I was starting. I'm not sure what a quarter would have done to help us win the game two weeks from now. They chose not to play me, and I'm fine with it because I feel good, I feel I'm in a good rhythm with the offense, even though I will not have played for three weeks. I didn't play for a year and a half.

The lack of experience is not what I would wish (for) going into this game - especially in the third year of my career. I don't feel like a rookie going into it - somewhere in between there.

I just have to play real consistent, do what the coaches ask me to do. Every quarterback going into any game is going to want to protect the football.

It's how (offensive coordinator) Ron Turner calls different plays with me in there. They only have a game and a half to watch me in this offense.
