We made wholesale changes. A whole new coaching staff. It's a fresh start for pretty much everyone. We had to get younger. We lost Sam and Spree. They were great players, all stars in this league, so we have to find a way to make up for those guys. I think we're going to do it with hard work and playing our roles.

Kobe was the difference. In the second half, we came back and we competed. But against a good team and a great player, we just didn't play well enough to win.

I think he's doing a good job for us overall. Hopefully he can keep that up. And Michael's been playing super off the bench. He's playing great defense, getting a lot of offensive boards, and he's been a catalyst a little bit on the offensive end because we can throw it down to him in the post.

We were doing a great job on him defensively and then he hit two shots that, boy, were quick-trigger. You have to be ready for him at all times.

I've got a lot of mixed emotions. Seven years is a long time to be with one team. I've got nothing but great things to say about Minnesota fans. The team gave me a great opportunity. But both parties apparently thought it was time to make a change.

It's been great with Paul. I think I complement his game, because I don't dominate the ball that much. I'm more of a spot-up guy. I don't dribble the ball to get my shots. I feed off of him and the double teams he draws. We've gotten along great, and I'm looking forward to playing with him for a lot of years to come in the future.
