New Orleans and its music were meant to be. We couldn't ask for a better symbol of hope than the houses that are beginning to come out of the ground in the New Orleans Habitat Musicians' Village. The hard work of Branford Marsalis, Harry Connick Jr., and the New Orleans affiliate has made it possible for others, like Dave Matthews Band, to support the project. Major League Baseball helped kicked this off during the World Series when this was fresh on everybody's mind. Unless you are living in the Gulf Coast, you are probably thinking about other things other than families down there and what they have to go through. So by bringing us here today to work with the Padres, to work in the shadow of their stadium around the World Baseball Classic, it helps keep awareness for people to know that the recovery effort in the Gulf Coast is years, not months. We have to be there today, tomorrow and beyond and Major League Baseball has been a big part of that.

We really had to work her in and out. Michelle Dirks did a great job, got a few rebounds, hit her free throws, a few shots ... Our bench hadn't scored any points in the tournament so far and we challenged those kids today ... They're a huge reason we won this game.
