The whole of Europe are pretty much against this war. There's all this skepticism that it's being done for oil or for elections, rather than because of a real need. People over here would like to see some reason why it should really be done.
As I've always said, the region championship goes through Stratford. We played well over there, and hope to have a significant game against them at our place on April 3.
This has a lot more business impact than businesses realize. There are more people using it ... even though there are often policies against it.
It's nothing against those schools at all. Coaches just would rather take a 10-minute drive to play. But the UIL looks at the bigger picture. They see the West Texas teams that have to travel long distances and they say our area doesn't have it that bad.
There's a lot of passion out there for private school athletics. I can remember playing against Wade Hampton and feeling that rivalry, and that's what brought me back here to Orangeburg.
