Kevin and Wally are playing at an All-Star level. I hope everyone is taking notice that they are playing solid basketball at both ends of the floor.

Kevin did a masterful job of rebounding. We have to have somebody to help out on the boards in the paint.

Kevin has never said, 'I don't like who we have, I don't like you as a coach, I don't want this coach. I've known Kevin for a while. He and I hit it off right from the start. Kevin has opinions and is frustrated. We're all frustrated. We're not happy with where we are. Nobody wants to not be fighting for the division lead. I think he just spoke his mind on the feeling of everyone, from (owner) Glen Taylor all the way down to our trainer.

With Mark Blount at the high post, I don't think teams can double- and triple-team Kevin as much. I think Mark Blount and Eddie (Griffin, the starter) both will give us that two-headed center at the high post that will keep them from sagging off on Kevin.

I think a lot of it is we've got to get another third guy. Luckily, the other night against Seattle we had a third scorer (Eddie Griffin, 24 points). Right now, Kevin and Wally are playing at an all-star level, and we just need another person to step up. I'm not discriminating who it is; anybody can step up and get their minutes.

I thought we came out with too much respect at the beginning of the game and were on our heels instead of coming out attacking the way we did the last few games without Ricky and Kevin.

When Kevin went out, the team pulled together. Our young guys did well. It was almost like the youngsters wanting to do well for their big brother.

I see the same Kevin. Kevin wants to win; he wants to attack. I see him everyday and I see the same passion. I thought tonight that they were double-teaming him and I think that's kind of what got him out of whack. Until we knock down shots and be aggressive and attack the rim, he's going to see that.

People can want and wish all they want to. Kevin Garnett is our guy. We don't plan on him going anywhere . There's no talks about him going anywhere. All those people that are hoping, wishing, wanting, tampering, writing, dreaming ? there's no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

I have nothing but respect for Kevin and Glen. They've been fair with me, honest, and that's all you can ask. It's their evaluation; that's life in the NBA.

Howard is going to be a great player in this league. Kevin already is a great player. Kevin knows all the tricks of the trade. Dwight will someday be there, but Kevin is still above him.

You want to put them in situations to see how they react under competition, with the referees, the crowd, time and score, fatigue, frustration, with no safety blanket. You don't have Kevin coming in, you don't have Ricky coming in. It's on you.

He brings a wealth of experience that I like, that we need at that position to go along with Kevin (Garnett at forward). We'll see how it goes. We'll see how quickly we can get Mark acclimated. His basketball IQ is high. I talked to a lot of people that loved him.
