I have a joke for you, Gilbert. There?s three kinds of people in the world: There?s those who know how to count and there?s those who don?t.

What you can learn from this guy is the thing people call intangibles like his leadership style and the way he motivates guys around him. The way he has the ability to intimidate the opponent without saying a word. He's one of a kind.

He is definitely a threat that people are aware of at all times.

Some of those people are former players here. Some are coaches that have been around or people in the building. Or maybe it's just some of the people from Seattle who have followed the team since 1976. It would mean a great deal to them.

Some people are into ball control. We're into yards and points. Tempo is our thing.

Part of me really wants to enjoy it, and part of me realizes that we have another game coming up. I hope people are taking a lot of pictures so we can look back on it. I'm a little bit in shock right now. It's a great feeling, but I'm kind of at a loss for words.

When I first got here, people talked about the 12th Man at Husky Stadium, and I didn't believe it. When we moved into Qwest Field, it's been different, especially the last three years. I've played in a lot of stadiums, and this is the loudest. Dome or no dome, our fans, for whatever reason, know how to get loud.

We raise that flag before the game, and some people might not understand it. It's something I didn't understand at first. But it means something to people. It means something to our team, it means something to our coaches, it means something to the people in the city. I mean, the thing's hanging from the top of the Space Needle right now.

There are definitely enough resources of people that have been there. Even guys on our team that have been there and played in this game, and I guess you just have to listen and try to learn what you can from those types of people.

It was a one game deal here. We were talking about this game and this game only...I have learned this week that people dogged the Seahawks because they don't think there is history, but there is history here.

People expect the Steelers to win the game. Oh well, it is what it is. It doesn't surprise me that they're the favorite. There are a lot of things that people don't know about us, starting with our names.

Some people would rather be the favorite and walk in and play like the best. That hasn't been our thing this year. We have played to earn respect. And the way to earn respect is by going out and winning the next game you play. That approach has helped get us here.

People dog the Seahawks because there's not history here, but there is. Obviously, it doesn't go back as far as the Redskins or Packers or teams like that, but there's history here.

We got introduced to a lot of people in the country today who didn't know what we were really about.

I'm sure some of the coaches are aware of it, or the people who have been in the building for a long time are aware of it. But a lot of our guys are young. They don't remember, and they don't really care. What we do care about is this team, this year and what we can do.

I'm just glad you knew we were in the United States. Most people think we are in Canada.

Instead of people saying, 'Hey, I feel bad for you,' it felt more like people were applauding ... No, it didn't feel that way, it WAS that way. It was tough. It was very, very tough.

I think (Alexander) has really earned a lot of respect from his teammates this year, how he has handled things in a very unselfish manner. He came to camp on time (without a long-term contract) when a lot of people didn't expect him to, and I think that said a lot about the kind of commitment he was going to have to our team this year.

Honestly, we're going to be OK, we're going to get over this game. Hey, we had an opportunity to play better and to be world champs. We didn't play well enough to be world champs and we all know that. People will make excuses, saying, 'They got you on a trick play,' or, 'The officials called that and it looked like something else.' As players, we're not going to make that excuse. Our excuse is we didn't play well enough, period.

I didn't read into it like other people did. Guess what? We're going to go out and try and win this game. Sorry, we're not going to just go out and lay down.

You can sense this is a big deal to a lot of people.

The truth is the truth. People expect the Steelers to win this game. Oh, well. We're not getting caught up on it. It is what it is. We're just going to go out and try to play the best football that we can. The Steelers are a very, very good team.

It's almost unfair. Some people sleep on the flights, but I tend not to sleep because I am so enamored by all of the stuff on the plane. The bathroom that is right in front of my seat is nicer than the bathroom in my first house that I owned.

It's a pep rally, right? Those people were there from, like, 4:30 in the morning, so I feel like I owed them something.

It's still lingering. People are still talking about it.

This means a lot to us players. But I can already feel how much it means to all the people who have been living and dying with this franchise since 1976. It's a humbling experience.

It's just a humbling experience to know that all the people who set out to play in this Super Bowl, we're one of the teams that gets to go play in it. To have the opportunity to be called World Champions is an incredible opportunity. We've worked so hard for it and it's an amazing, amazing thing.

There's a lot that people don't know. Like our names.

There's a little bit of motivation when people don't believe in you, and there are people who don't believe in our team. There are people who say they're not that good. That's a little bit of a motivating factor, but it's not something we're hung up on.

Being in the locker room and talking to all the people in there, I realize this a big deal to a lot of people.

The Seahawks have only been around since 1976, so our fan base is relatively young. You talk about the Patriots, or the Celtics or, obviously, Red Sox and Bruins. Your grandfather's father was a fan of that team. People have lived there their whole lives.
