Every game this year I've been batting 3-for-4 or 4-for-4 and scoring runs, doing whatever I can to try to win. We have a team this year that I think can go to states. It takes a whole team to do it and I'm trying to do my part.

I never seen this coming. You know, I never seen this type of game coming, especially the kind of team we are, the kind of character we have. But, you know, you never say 'never.' They came out and they just punched us. We didn't recover from it.

I'm hoping that the lineup change will get our mind-set going in the right direction. I haven't liked the way we've played since the Michigan game (Jan. 3). We played well defensively against Illinois and that's about it.

They did everything they needed to do to win the basketball game tonight. You have to take your hat off to them because of their effort and their attitude. They could have walked in here and listened to what people said about them losing by 30 to Michigan State.

I probably should have stepped down a little earlier. I felt it. Our guys' minds were just gone. It was a game where I thought both teams played hard. I think Matt Painter is doing a just unbelievable job. You lose four starters and you can still put a team on the floor that competes and plays hard and causes problems. I don't know another team in the country that can lose four starters and compete at all.
