We were hitting balls right on the nose early on. It was those instances where you hit 'em right at guys. When you keep hitting balls as hard as we were, it's just a matter of time before they start falling (for hits).

Of the tournament field, they've played the most difficult schedule early on, when you look at the teams they've played.

In the first inning, you could see their approach was to go with the pitch. But when they were doing their damage, they were the same team they've always been, which is very aggressive early in the count.

We had a good approach and swung the bats well early in the game. I was concerned in the eighth and ninth when we got a runner to third with one out and couldn't get them in. You know those things will come back to haunt you, but it didn't tonight. This team (Fresno State) is very talented and every single guy is capable of hitting a home run here.
