He was an outstanding mentor for Eli all the time he was here. When he was starting and then when Eli became the starter, he was still the same thing. Kurt helped Eli tremendously. The most enthusiastic person on our sideline was Kurt Warner.
We just asked him to take pride in himself and prove to me that he's a football player. He worked every day from the time I got here, so he has earned that, and I'm glad to see him do well tonight.
The thoughts that come to mind about that day are deep. They are very personal. They come to mind probably every time we spend time with our son. But it's also a time of deep reflection for what it meant to our country. We'll experience all of those things before Sunday.
Any time there's a player of that caliber out there, you have to give it due diligence. Beyond that, we haven't done a whole lot of discussing it.
It's not an east time for the players. It's not an easy time for the coaches,
He's OK, he's just not ready to do all the twisting and turning. We'll see how he is tomorrow. We've started cautiously with Mike because of the injury. This game his playing time would have been extended, but that's probably not going to be the case.
