I don't know what to say. When you don't get innings out of your rotation, it's always going to come back to haunt you. That's been the case the last couple of days.

From my understanding, it was taken care of last year. They talked. I hope it's behind us. That was nasty.

He was the obvious choice. He's got the stuff, and he did it last year when Mac wasn't available, so he has some experience.

His stuff has gotten better each time out. What that tells me is his arm is quicker than it has been. Last year at the end and in Spring Training, he wasn't showing the quick arm that I remember seeing. He has done everything we asked him to do and that's really what the conditions were. We need a fifth starter and he's going to be that guy.

Whatever I said to them last night, they've heard a hundred times. So, no.

I thought he looked the same as he did last year. The bottom line is he's a big kid who can get guys out.

The thing I look at most is the individual pitchers. And I thought Bautista's arm slot was in a great position. It's something we've talked about earlier. Last year his arm slot dropped a little bit, but his arm is in great position right now, and if he keeps it that way, it's going to be tough to keep him out of the rotation.

I just repeat myself every night. Just take what I said last night.

He pitched as well today as he did in Chicago. It's a big lift for us. Those last two teams he's faced are not slouches. His tempo was outstanding. I like his tempo. Last year his tempo was slow.

He pitched really good against us the couple of times we faced San Diego, so he's in the mix for that last couple of bullpen spots.
