Obviously, any time you can be up here, you want to be here. I just have to learn my role and stay ready the best I can. Coming up last year was the first time I had ever not played every day. I think they have something to prove. Last year, they didn't have anything to prove because we had a lot of All-Americans on defense. This year, they're young and they're ready to come out and prove they're a top defense.

I think Bobby will address some things, certainly in terms of looking at weaknesses and how to strengthen those weaknesses. But I think he has to be pleased with the last two games in terms of unity and preparation and playing football like Florida State should play football. I thought we did that in a big win and in a heartbreaking loss.

I think he came into that first game a little scared, and he maybe tried to do too much, too soon. But I felt all along that Ben, deep down, wanted to be the starter. That's the kind of competitor he is. This year, he wants to be the guy to make plays to help us win games. Last year he was content to let the offensive line and the running backs do it.

It is something I definitely wanted to do and to be honest with you I think I'd sort of given up on it a little bit last year. I kind of had thoughts 'this isn't going to happen.

We can't forget it's still winter. The last few weeks, with 50-, 55-degree weather, you don't think winter. You start thinking, it's going to be great, it's going to be an early spring. But then this refreshes our memory. I think it was a wake up call for everybody.

We've kind of been on the more melodic page for the last few years now. For anybody that knows the band and the last couple of records, or just the last record, they're going to get it. It's not going to be a complete 180 or something out of left field, to where people are going to be like, 'Oh, wow they did this with their music. I can't believe that.' There's some unpredictable stuff still, and we like to keep people guessing with the songs and keep things fresh.

We still have four games to play. And we've still got a chance. I think we're going to need some help, probably. Hopefully, we'll get some. But you can't be the kind of team that keeps looking around at other teams and what they're doing. You've got to take care of your own business these last four games.

To play nine years falling short, you almost stop thinking about it. I was really able to enjoy the (Super Bowl) week, have a lot of fun. If we can go into next year with the same focus and attention to detail we had the last eight weeks, that will give us a chance again.

This year hasn't been what we had hoped coming off last year. We're all frustrated. That's what happens when you're not going to contend. But the staff's attitude remains positive.

The state did some re-leveling of standards so it was hard for us to know how we did compared to last year. That's the frustrating part. Instead we must compare how we did against the state; from that angle we are very pleased.

If you asked me last week where I would finish, I had no idea.

I just don't think we were ready for Fayetteville. We celebrated our win over Little Rock Central last week a little too long. We came out and didn't protect, didn't throw the ball well and didn't run routes well. Nothing went right and it was mistake after mistake.

This is a lot like Cleveland, ... Pitching was the last thing to come there. We're really not that far away.

That injury really got me down. It took a couple of months before I started to feel better, and my spirits picked up when I was able to come back and play baseball last spring.

It was a tough loss, but I had so much fun tonight. Me throwing my last college pass for a touchdown, I'll never forget that.

It was a roller-coaster ride in terms of starting out 5-0 and then struggling at the end, but then regaining focus and composure in the last two games. It's a shame this one goes down in the loss column. But if you look at the effort and the focus in the Virginia Tech game and last night, certainly it was dramatically different than what we saw during the three-game losing streak.

We finished strong, and it gives us some confidence winning four of our last five.
